Optowell 980nm VCSEL Chip now available

The Optoelectronics Company, a distributor of innovative optoelectronic components, is pleased to announce the release of 980nm High Power VCSEL chips from Optowell.

The PM98-B1P0N, with a ball lens, and PM98-F1P0N, with a flat window, provide output power of 1.5mW with a high data rate of 1.25 / 2.5 Gbps. These chips have a spectral bandwidth (RMS) of 0.85nm maximum and threshold current of 1.5mA typical. They offer high reliability.
They are suitable for use in applications such as position sensors, encoders, high speed data communications and medical/bio-medical instrumentation. The low operating current and low operating voltage make them particularly suitable for use in battery powered products.
VCSEL chips are the perfect solution for OEMs wishing to integrate light sources directly onto the electronic circuit boards within their products.
These infra-red 980nm VCSEL chips are available in TO packages with either flat window or ball lens options.
