PRESS RELEASE: High Power 850nm VCSEL now available.
The Optoelectronics Company, a distributor of innovative optoelectronic components, is pleased to announce the release of a high power infra-red 850nm wavelength range Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL).
This innovative device from Korean manufacturer Optowell Co., Ltd offers unrivalled operating temperature performance with excellent output power vs temperature characteristics.
The PH85-D2P0U4 provides a maximum output power of 20mW at an operating current of 50mA and operating voltage of 2.6V maximum. The circular output has a narrow beam divergence of 2° and spectral bandwidth (RMS) of 0.85nm maximum. The device is packaged in TO-46 package with dome lens and has an operating temperature range of 0 to +60°C.
The circular beam characteristics, low operating current, low operating voltage and excellent operating temperature range make the PH85-D2P0U4 ideally suited to applications where normally edge emitting laser diodes are employed, such as position sensors, encoders, high speed data communications and free space optical communications.
These infra-red 850nm VCSEL's are also available in a TO-46 housing with flat window, ball lens or as unpackaged chips.
